Natural Classroom Series

The Natural Classroom is a program designed to expose the students to the natural environment and different ecosystems of New York City.

This exciting series of hands–on classes provide an unforgettable experience for every season and every student. 

Scheduled programming (subject to change):

  • 9/9- Introduction to program/Team Building/Portable Adventure

  • 9/23- Know Your Park/Orienteering

  • 10/7- Pollinators and Plants (Ento/Botany)

  • 10/21- Urban Wildlife: Raptors and Other Urban Birds

  • 10/28- Urban Wildlife: Mammals of NYC

  • 11/4- City Trees and Tree ID

  • 11/18- Urban Ecology: Webs of Life in the City

  • 11/25- Native Americans: Pre-Colonial New York

  • 12/2- Survival Skills: Shelter Building & Fire Making

  • 12/9- Geology and Ice Ages 

  • 12/16- Climate Change: Global Crisis, Local Impacts
